NeighborCircle
A community-driven app designed to help neighbors connect, share resources, organize events, and support each other.
NeighborCircle is a collaborative mobile app created to strengthen local communities by making communication and resource-sharing easy and accessible. Our team developed this project from initial concept to working prototype through a structured design process including brainstorming, user research, concept mapping, and prototyping.

User Research
We conducted interviews and surveys with local residents in Pittsburgh, PA (Oakland, Shadyside, and Squirrel Hill) to better understand community pain points. Insights from this research helped us identify opportunities for improving neighborhood engagement, event coordination, and resource sharing.
Brainstorm for Prototype
Our team explored multiple directions for building an app that feels simple, friendly, and useful. Through sketching sessions and collaborative discussions, we narrowed our ideas into a structured feature set that became the foundation of the prototype.

The NeighborCircle splash screen introduces the app with a clean, friendly identity. It welcomes users with the project logo and sets the tone for a community-centered experience. This screen acts as the visual starting point for the entire onboarding flow, helping users understand the brand and purpose from the very first moment.

Primary interface for users to enter their information such as name and zipcode so that the app will tailor to their specific neighborhood.

Users can browse local activities, RSVP to events, and stay connected with what's happening in their neighborhood.
Create An Event
This section showcases the event-browsing experience, where users can discover local activities, join events, and stay updated on what’s happening in their neighborhood.
Supplies
NeighborCircle enables neighbors to share resources easily. This section displays how users can request or offer supplies, tools, and essentials within the app.
User Information
Users can manage their personal details, view their community activity, and track events they've created or attended. This profile section helps neighbors build their presence within the app and stay connected with their local community.
